Van driving tips in UK

  • Remember that in the UK vehicles are driven on the left hand side.
  • Peak times in towns and cities can be extremely busy so try to plan your journey around the rush hour if possible – it could help make your journey much quicker!
  • Plan your route in advance – rural roads in the UK can be narrow and some are unsuitable for large vehicles
  • Be aware of the height of the vehicle and check it will fit under any structures such as low bridges or car park entrances.
  • A large truck may need a bit more space for turning than you’re used to – make sure you allow for this when parking and manoeuvring.
