How can we help you ?

What should I do if I experience a breakdown or an accident?

Every effort is made to alleviate the likelihood of a vehicle breaking down, unfortunately there will be instances where a breakdown does occur.

Your safety is our top priority. If you experience a breakdown or are involved in an accident while driving one of our vehicles, please follow the guidance below.

1. Stay Safe

  • Pull over off the road, turn on hazard lights.
  • Passengers move to a safe area away from traffic.

2. Warn Others

  • Use a warning triangle if available (or a connected V16 emergency light device) for signaling accidents, breakdowns, and emergency situations
  • Wear a reflective vest if provided.

3. Call for Help

  • Contact Roadside Assistance (number in your rental agreement and key holder), use the number that can be found in the contract or on the keys, available 24 hours a day 7 days a week
  • Share your location, vehicle, and problem.

4. Wait Safely

  • Stay off the road until help arrives.
  • Don’t attempt repairs unless safe and qualified.

When contacting our roadside assistance, service will provide you with more information and help you with the rest of your trip, supply as many details as possible relating to the breakdown including the below:

  • Registration number
  • Make and model
  • Colour (if known)
  • Nature of fault
  • Precise location of vehicle
  • Contact number
  • Whereabouts of keys

Service should be provided within an hour of the initial call being made.

However, there are some circumstances where it may take longer to attend. (eg.: adverse weather conditions, Bank holidays etc.)

The breakdown provider will advise the caller of the estimated time of arrival at the time of initial call.

If the towing services can, they will fix the car and let you go on your way.

However, if the breakdown cannot be fixed, they will tow the car to the nearest garage.
