What are the driving license requirements?
Driving License Requirements for Europcar Rentals
When renting a vehicle from Europcar, the following driving license requirements must be met:
General Requirements
- Valid Driving License: A full and valid driving license is required. It must be held for at least 1 year prior to the commencement of the rental. The expiration date of the driving licence must be greater than the return date of your rental.
- International Driving Permit (IDP): If the driving license is not in the Latin alphabet, an International Driving Permit may be required. See specific article
- Format: Licenses must be produced in person at the Europcar location at the time of collection. (No copy will be accepted, dematerialised driving license are not accepted).
- Age Restrictions: A minimum age to rent a vehicle may be required, but this may vary by location and vehicle type.
Additional Considerations
- License Verification: Europcar reserves the right to verify the authenticity of the driving license.
- Provisional Licenses: Provisional or learner's licenses are generally not accepted.
- Additional Drivers: Any additional drivers must also meet the same license requirements.
Important Notes
It is essential to present the driving license at the time of vehicle collection along with any other required identification. Failure to provide a valid driving license may result in the inability to rent a vehicle.
