How to charge your electric vehicle

In the trunk of your vehicle, you'll find two types of charging cables:

  • One cable for home charging
  • Another cable for public charging stations in town
  • On highways, use the cable that’s already attached to the fast-charging station

At home or at a public charging station:

  1. Open the charging port: Locate and open the charging port of your electric vehicle. It’s usually at the front or rear of the vehicle.
  2. Connect the cable: Plug the cable into your vehicle first, then into the charging point (if you're using your own cable).

At public charging stations:

Thanks to our partnership with Shell, you have access to the Shell Recharge card and its services:

  • Use the Shell app to find the nearest available charging station.
  • Once there, park your vehicle in the designated space. Plug in the cable—first to your vehicle, then to the station (if it’s a fast charger, the cable will already be attached to the station—simply plug it into your vehicle). Make sure the doors are closed.
  • Hold your Shell Recharge card slowly over the RFID reader. The light will change from green to blue, indicating that charging has started.
  • To stop charging, swipe the card again. The light, which may be blue or green (if charging is complete), will turn off. Unplug the cable and store it in your vehicle (unless the cable is fixed to the station).
  • You can check charging details in the Shell app. All charges will be automatically billed to your Shell Recharge account.
