When will you debit the rental amount?
The rental amount is debited depending on the type of booking you select:
Prepaid Bookings (Online):
- If you choose to prepay, your selected payment method will be charged at the time of booking.
- You won’t receive a separate invoice for this transaction—your confirmation email will serve as your receipt.
- Once the vehicle is returned, any additional charges (if applicable) will be reviewed, and a final invoice will be sent to you.
Pay-on-Pickup Bookings:
- If you opt not to prepay, the rental amount will be charged at the time of vehicle pickup—or just before delivery, if that applies.
- This initial charge will include the rental fee, a security deposit, and any selected add-ons or protection options.
- After your rental ends, you’ll receive the final invoice by email, which will reflect any adjustments or extra fees if needed.
Post-Rental Charges:
- Any additional costs identified after the rental—such as traffic fines, tolls, fuel top-ups, or damage fees—will be charged separately at a later date.
Important:
If you booked and prepaid your rental through a third party (e.g., an online booking platform), you may be directly charged by Europcar for additional costs outside of what was originally planned —depending on the contractual terms in place with that partner.
