What is included in the price, and what additional charges may apply?
Your Europcar rental prices shown online or obtained takes into account all mandatory charges corresponding to your reservation criteria.
This quote generally includes the following items :
- Value Added Tax (VAT) or any other local tax
- Unlimited Mileage, or if this is not the case, the clear number of kilometers/miles included, with the cost of each extra kilometer/mile
- Premium station surcharge, applicable for specific locations such as Airports or Train stations.
- Road tax and License fee surcharge
- Third party liability insurance
- Collision Damage Waiver "CDW" and Theft Waiver "TW". Collision Damage Waiver and Theft waiver may be merged together in Loss Damage Waiver ("LDW") in some countries.
Good to know: The excess amount shown at the time of booking is the maximum you would have to pay if the vehicle is damaged or stolen. You can reduce or even eliminate this liability—and lower your security deposit—by choosing optional protection products during your reservation or at the rental counter upon arrival.
Additional charges
Depending on your age or travel plans, some mandatory charges may not be automatically included in your booking and must be manually added from the reservation menu. These may include, in particular but non only :
- Young Driver Surcharge (required for drivers under 26) will be automatically added when you enter your age in the booking form
- Cross-border (if you plan to drive outside your pick-up country), available as an option during the reservation process
Planning to pick up your rental car in a foreign country? It's a good idea to check the Terms and Conditions for that location—things like fees or requirements can vary depending on where you're going.
Booking through a third-party website? Make sure the total price includes all the necessary options. If anything important is missing, those costs will be added when you pick up your vehicle at the counter.
