Dublin City Centre location

Dublin City is the capital city of Ireland located on the east coast of the island. The city’s history spans more than a thousand years, dating back to Viking times. It is most famous for its architecture, history and pub culture. There are an endless amount of activities to keep tourists occupied for the entirety of their stay.

Located off Pearse Street, our Europcar location on Mark Street is within a five minute walk from the city centre. From here you can explore the vast amount of attractions located in the city and its surrounding areas. We offer a wide range of cars and vans to fit any need you might have.

Dublin’s architecture tells a historic tale itself dating back to times of British rule where a georgian sprawl occurred which is still clearly visible around the city throughout cobble streets. A lot of development has taken place in recent years as can be seen in Dublin’s youngest and trendiest urban quarters such as the Convention Centre and Grand Canal Theatre.

Dublin city has a rich history, most notably the 1916 Easter Rising which triggered a fight for independence from British rule. To this day bullet holes can be seen lining the facade of the GPO on O’Connell Street. Another must see is Trinity College, the oldest university in Ireland dating back to Elizabethan times. Many historic figures are connected to Trinity such as Oscar Wilde and Douglas Hyde. Trinity College is also home to The Book of Kells, a manuscript containing a richly decorated copy of the four gospels in a Latin text dating back to the 9th century.

Croke Park, situated on the north side of the River Liffey, is home to the native Irish sports of Gaelic Football and hurling. The museum located on site contains the entire history of the G.A.A. and the role it played in the formation of Ireland as it is today.

Ireland is known around the world for its pub culture. Tourists continually flock to the pubs and restaurants dotted everywhere around Dublin to partake in one of the best party atmospheres you’ll find worldwide.

The home of Ireland’s globally famous export Guinness can be found near the city centre. The Guinness Storehouse offers tours of their facilities which walk you through the history and process of Guinness. Upon finishing your tour you can stop at the Gravity Bar to witness the best view you’ll find anywhere of the city.
