Car rental: additional driver
Renting a car abroad often means taking trips to new and undiscovered places, and this can involve long hours driving. With Europcar’s additional driver service, you can take turns to get behind the wheel, so everyone gets the chance to take a nap!
As well as planning this in advance, you can add new drivers over the course of your trip if your circumstances change. For example, if you happen to injure your foot and are unable to drive, you can simply pop into your local rental station and add your traveling buddy as a driver instead. Simple.
The benefits of an extra driver
Having an additional driver (or drivers) for your rental car can massively ease the pressure on your main driver, making your trip a lot more enjoyable. Also, if you’re planning a long journey, not needing to stop for as many breaks means you’ll reach your destination twice as fast.
The number of additional drivers depends on the capacity of the vehicle. If your car seats five people, you can have up to five drivers.
