Major strategic transaction for Europcar: acquisition of the European businesses and signing of a transatlantic alliance with Vanguard (National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car)
On 13 November 2006, Europcar announced the signing of a major strategic agreement with Vanguard Car Rental Holdings LLC ("Vanguard"), one of the leading passenger and light utility vehicle rental companies in North America, operating under the National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands. Under this agreement, Europcar is acquiring Vanguard's European businesses ("Vanguard EMEA") for an enterprise value of 670 million euros, thereby becoming the leading rental operator in the United Kingdom and strengthening the N° 1 position it has held in Europe since 2003. In addition, Europcar and Vanguard have signed a transatlantic partnership agreement enabling Europcar to attain a leadership position on the worldwide car rental market and to offer its clients a premier network in North America.

Eurazeo closes 3 billion Euros Europcar acquisition
Eurazeo today announced it had finalised the acquisition of 100 per cent of the share capital of Europcar, Europe's leading car rental firm, from Volkswagen AG. The closing of this transaction comes further to authorisation from the relevant competition authorities in France, Germany and Italy.

Latin America opens new locations
Europcar, recently voted "Latin America's Leading Car Hire" company at the 2005 World Travel Awards, has opened 10 new stations as part of its continual network expansion strategy. The openings are in Argentina (Buenos Aires city and Posadas airport), Brasil (Natal airport, Rio de Janeiro city, Teresina airport and city), Mexico (Acapulco airport, Monterrey city, and Tuxtla airport) and Peru (Lima).

Europcar strengthens its position in Finland
Mr Ossi Dahlström, owner of the company Interrent Oy, which is the Finnish licence holder of Europcar-brand, the leading car rental company in Europe, has sold Interrent Oy’s shares to
High Point Oy. The terms of the contract are not being disclosed.
Ownership of the company’s stock was transferred in a contract of sale concluded on 5 September 2005. High Point Oy is the property of Mr Jussi Holopainen and Mr Matti Holopainen, who are the second-generation owners of car hire company Pohjan Autovuokraamo Oy.
